Balloons are items in Bad Piggies, first introduced on When Pigs Fly.
Use
Balloons are used to lift up vehicles, but only connects to Boxes or pigs. These are useful if the player wants to go up, or when the level gives no other items that lifts boxes up, such as Fireworks, and Helicopter Rotors.
Physics
Balloons comes in 3 packs: Single, Double, and Triple Balloons. Triple balloons has more force than the 2. But even though they are just a normal balloon with another, they are not equal. This is likely a bug, and can ruin testing. As shown below, 2 single balloons does not have the same force as one double balloons. This *might* have been fixed as of the Custom Contraptions update.
One Double Balloons surprisingly seems to be weaker than 2 single balloons
The same thing happens with the triple balloons, but the Triple Balloons doesn't seem to lift the box at all, but the 3 single balloons can. This may have been fixed as well.
The triple balloons did not manage to lift the boxes, but the 3 single balloons can.
Trivia
- The Balloons can pass-through Freckled Pig when forced down to him.
- Balloons are exact opposites of Sandbags.
- Grappling Hooks can pop balloons.
- They have a glitch in that if they are forced into the same space as Freckled Pig they will cause his pupils to disappear. (Only tested on Apple)
- Variations include Star, Cake, Rubber Ducks, A strange creature that seems to be a combination of Mickey Mouse's head and a hand, Peeled Bananas, Ghosts and The King Pig.
- The ghost skin for the balloons makes a strange, wispy, drawn out version of the balloon popping sound when they are popped.
