Level 4-17 is a level in Flight in the Night. It introduces an entirely new mechanic: Birds that fling themselves at Ross when they get woken up by too much noise. Red is the only one of these birds to appear in this level, and when awoken, he will use the nearby slingshot to fling himself at wherever he predicts the player's cart will be.

The player is given a 3x2 grid, along with the following parts:
- 1x Ross
- 1x Egg
- 2x Wooden Frame
- 1x Metal Frame
- 1x Wooden Wheel
- 1x Powered Wheel
- 1x Electric Motor
Solution[]
The player is awarded stars for the following conditions:
- Ross reaches the goal with the Egg.
- The level is completed without using Metal Frames.
- The vehicle does not break.
The player should build a 2x2 wooden cart, with a Powered Wheel in front; this Powered Wheel can also be placed on the side of the front frame for more stability. Without the Electric Motor, the player will not make enough noise to awaken Red while they pass by, so just drive to the goal.
While they're here, the player should note a thing or two about the bird mechanic. When a bird is not on-screen, an indicator will show up, telling the player how close it is to awakening. This does not show up while the bird is on-screen, but the bird will stop emitting "Z"s if its awakening meter is past half-full.
