Propeller Wing Helicopter Rotor

The Wings are vehicle parts of Bad Piggies introduced in When Pigs Fly.

Overview[]

Wings, as their purpose implies, are used on planes, helicopters, gliders or any kind of flying vehicle. They allow such vehicles to smoothly glide down to safety if powered down or damaged. Putting a wing at the very front of the vehicle results in the biggest lift generated, hence this being a part of high flyers.

Types[]

Currently there are two types of wings: Glider and Tail. Just like Frames, the wing comes in the two distinct types of wooden and metal.

  • Standard Glider Wings are responsible for the gliding and lift of the flying vehicle. As soon as enough speed is gathered, the vehicle takes off and begins to climb. If a Tail is not fitted to the rear of the vehicle, it will go into a tailspin if it flies too fast.
  • As mentioned above, Tail wings are fitted to the rear of the vehicle to prevent it from spinning around in the air if it flies too quickly. They help to keep it stable and glide down more smoothly.
  • The Glider and Tail Wings in metallic form are more durable than those in wooden form. Relatively, they provide more lift and keep the plane more stable.

Variations[]

Wooden Wings[]

  • The one-star variations (Common) are identical to the classic appearance, except it is blue.
  • The two-star variations (Rare) have a different shape and colored red. For the Glider Wing, it takes a different style, one that resembles that of a biplane (Two layers)
  • The three-star variation (Epic) is modelled off a dragon, with two identical styles in yellow and orange color. Interestingly, the yellow colored Glider Wing has a gold mount.

Metal Wings[]

  • The one-star variations are made of bronze/brass/copper.
  • The two-star variations take the style of a bone.
  • The three-star variations are made of gold.

Trivia[]

For Glider Wings, the way they are programmed and coded results in them generating downforce on a physically flipped vehicle, much like in motor racing cars such as Formula One. This is a good thing to note for making high speed race car-styled vehicles, but ironically, it does not work when the wing is deliberately placed at the bottom of the vehicle.

Tail Wings may also be used on cars as their function of stability may be used to keep the car from flipping in high speed maneuverability.
